Need a Professional Spokesperson
  • Danielcurran_Finders- IAPPR Spokesperson

Do you need an expert on probate genealogy, heir hunting or family trees?

Here at the International Association for Professional Probate Researchers (IAPPR), we have a
number of professionals who can give you interviews, facts and figures, and features on the topic.
We can cover ancestry, family trees, the business of heir hunting, and more.

Our members at the IAPPR have years of experience in the field of probate genealogy. Daniel
Curran, founder and managing director of Finders International, has worked in professional
genealogy for more than 25 years. The business has featured on the BBC show Heir Hunters for
several years now as the lead heir hunting firm, and Finders International case managers have
created more awareness of the heir hunting role in general.

Daniel has also spoken on various TV and radio shows explain what heir hunting involves, and
what happens when a person dies intestate.

Our members’ previous media experience includes BBC London and Oxford, This Morning, Radio 4,
The Times, The Scotsman and the Daily Mail and numerous periodicals.

The IAPPR was created to establish an international organisation that raises standards in
professional probate research, and as a forum for industry advice and media consultation. The aim
of IAPPR is to provide a viable association for professional companies operating legitimate
businesses in the industry.

One important issue for us is ensuring that members of the public are protected from poor
practice. The probate research industry is unregulated – and anyone can call themselves a
genealogist expert –but this had attracted fraudulent and rogue heirs to the industry. Through
media interviews we can raise awareness of what is poor practice and help preventing people
falling victim to it.

If you would like to interview one of our members, or consult us, please phone us on 020 7490
4935 or email [email protected] The IAPPR is looking to appoint additional founder members and
media consultants, especially in other jurisdictions. Please contact us if this is of interest.
